15 year-old David Hahn created a nuclear reactor irradiating himself and his neighborhood in a small town of Michigan about 25 miles away from Detroit.
David’s parents were divorced. He lived with his father and stepmother who gave him a book about chemistry when he was 10. This provoked his thirst of knowledge of chemistry and physics.
He contacted an official in Nuclear Regulatory Commission and obtianed information about radioactive isotopes and other chemicals. After the found radioactive materials he started experimenting which resulted in making a radioactive reactor out of aluminum foil and duct tape. His experiments irradiated hismelf, leaving marks on his face and about 40,000 residents of the town.
